We would respectfully ask that you ensure you are registered with a chemist before asking for your prescription to be sent there and use the same chemist whenever possible. We are finding that some patients are asking for their prescriptions to be sent to a different chemist at every order and this causes confusion and delays and sometimes prescriptions are sent to the wrong chemist.

We are changing our prescription system. You can choose to register for patient access directly to your prescription record and be able to order repeat medication from there. However you need to first have a letter of authorisation and Pin No from the Practice. All online ordering is designed for managing the medication that you received regularly on repeat, not to request medication which you have had to manage an acute illness and which is not intended to be regularly prescribed. Special requests for medication which you may have had before but is not on regular repeat should be sent separately to our clinical mailbox, email@example.com or requested in person from the surgery. We do not take requests over the phone except by prior arrangement for house bound patients.
Registering for Patient Access to order your repeat prescription
To register for Patient Access email our clinical mailbox You should then come to the practice in person within 2 working days with proof of your date of birth and address. You will then given a letter with an access pin code and ID. We need to ask for proof of ID to ensure that only the patient or their nominated representative has access to their medication record. Access to the record can be declined by the practice.
Once you have the letter with your PIN code and user ID you can register for access at patient.co.uk using the undernoted link.
If you have received your PIN Code and ID letter or are already registered with the new system, Patient Access then please click here to order your prescription.

Patients eligible for repeat prescriptions can order medication in a number of ways:
- By hand - drop your repeat order form in at reception with the required items clearly marked.
- By post - send it to us remembering to enclose a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you.
- Online - If you have not registered for online prescriptions before please read the information above with regard to online prescription ordering via patient.co.uk
Prescriptions can either be collected or sent to your chemist directly. Please note this service is for local chemists only, including Rowlands in Loanhead and Sainsburys and Boots in Dalkeith. Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
